    • Cachi colonial village

Cuesta del Obispo (Valle de Lerma)
Salta called "la linda" (the beautiful...city)
Purmamarca + Tilcara + Huamuaca = Unesco heritage
      The 7 colors mountain
Salinas Grandes = salt dessert = Star Wars set!

Day 1

We flight from Buenos Aires to San Salvador de Jujuy.

At 9AM we were at the car rental at the airport with Europcar (this rent company is not recommended for long delays in delivery).

Then trip to Cafayate 308 km of route, mostly route in good condition and beautiful landscape.

Night in Cafayate (several restaurant options with typical foods and bars).

Day 2

Cafayate / Cachi, through the Famous Ruta 40 (the Argentinean Rout 66) to Cachi. 160 km of gravel road made in 4 hours.
Road with adventure river crossing (amazing experience!).

Keep in mind that this road should be done with a proper car, the best would be a 4x4 truck, not the Suzuki Etios we had haha But the landscapes were amazing all the way!

Then we arrived to Ciudad de Cachi, a small town with a very colonial central plaza. At night there were several restaurant options and clubs with live music.

Day 3

Cachi / Salta mountain road requiring driving at a slow pace for the most part (asphalt + gravel), recommended stop in Valle de Lerma (Cuesta del Obispo), a viewpoint above the clouds with stalls selling typical foods and souvenirs.

City of Salta capital: several pedestrian options with small typical shops and ideal for walking around. At night bars and several clubs with live music.

Day 4

Salta / Purmamarca / Tilcara / Humahuaca stop in Purmamarca (hill of the 7 colors) many options to buy souvenirs.

We continue the trip to Humahuaca for lunch: llama milanesa or highly recommended empanadas.

In the afternoon we return to Tilcara to spend the night (very nice center with many businesses and bars).

Day 5

Tilcara / Salinas Grandes 92 km (approx. 1.30 hours) of asphalt route requiring driving through mountains to Salinas Grandes.

Salinas Grandes is a salt dessert where you will be surrounded by an amazing scenery, super instragramable! It looks like a Star Wars movie!

In the afternoon return to Jujuy airport for return home.
