We Colorado On a Whim
Colorado has always been a dream. I left a peice of my heart lost in their mountains.
Trip Recap
- Day 1: Just arrived in Denver, grabbed a rental, tried In and Out, heading to Colorado Springs!
- Days 2 to 3: Google saved our road trip by helping us find local favorites!
- Day 4: Just go to Garden of the Gods, trust me, it's worth it.
Highlights
Having ZERO plans and fully using google local recommendations
Waking up at 430 to watch the sunrise (googled local overlooks and boy it did not disappoint)
Traveling hours just to lose my ID trying to get to Pagosa Springs
Randomly visiting White Sands national Park, not realizing that it was there
Day 1
We landed in Denver and immediately picked up our rental. Toon it easy but we had In and Out for the first time ever! Didn’t even realizing they were there!
We stayed in Denver to eat and then started the two hour drive down to Colorado Springs!
Days 2 to 3
we went in with no plans so google was our friend!
We googled local favorites and had the the best time. 1700 miles we drove by the time we returned the rental!
I lost my id taking a picture on the side of the road for the landscape then jumped in the car no realizing I dropped my wallet. We made it to Pagosa Springs only to realize my ID was gone. But thank technology because on the drive back I found my wallet on the side of the road exactly where I had stopped to take pictures!
We took a drive through Peaks Highway but didn’t make it to the top because of the snow!
we cut out stay in Colorado Springs early by a day and drove up to Estes Park where we toured Rocky Mountain National Park on a Jeep. Our guide even took us sledding!
Day 4
YOU HAVE TO GO TO GARDEN OF THE GODS
Just trust me on this one
And if you can, google where you can ride a bourse through the trails in Garden of the Gods
Anything you would add or do differently?
