Day 1
Mom and her friend went to MOMA, a must do for art lovers, and explored the art wonders in Midtown Manhattan. After picking up her daughter and saying bye to her friend, the two of them checked in to their hotel, the Arthouse, located just three blocks west of Central Park. They enjoyed a delicious, light dinner at a vegan restaurant called La Botaniste half a mile down from their hotel.
Day 2
Mom and daughter started the day with a run in Central Park- a must do for any runners. They met up with the boys and the four of them, Mom, Dad, son, and daughter, took the subway down to the Financial District where they saw the Charging Bull, 9/11 Memorial, and One World Trade Center. The bull was very crowed but close to other landmarks, so it was a good spot to hit. The memorial is a must visit- very well done, meaningful, and right next to the One World Trade Center. The trade center is the tallest building in the U.S. and was cooler on the outside than the inside, though they did not go to the observation deck. Next, the family took a short ferry to Governors Island. Great views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty were visible from the island and ferry. Governors Island used to be an Army camp and still has some barracks. Bikes were available to rent to take around the island, though the family didn’t partake in the riding because of the price. Instead, they walked around, ate lunch in a food truck court, and took a short nap in the hammocks. Back in Manhattan, the family rented bikes and rode on the Hudson River back to their hotel. Renting bikes is a great way to see a lot of things and get some exercise. After freshening up, the family ate at a nice Italian restaurant called ___________ and took a taxi to the theater district. Their they saw the musical Six on broadway. It was hilarious and clever with a very talented cast- highly recommend. The family then walked to Time Square, the Rockefeller Center, the Plaza Hotel, and 5th Avenue. All of those were good to visit, especially because they’re all close. The area wasn’t as nice, so eat dinner somewhere else before or after going.
Day 3
First, the family got breakfast at a café, walked across Central Park, and hailed a cab outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They drove to the Bronx and took a tour of the Rose Hill Campus at Fordham University. After that, they walked around the original Little Italy and ate an early dinner at ________, a great Italian restaurant. It’s highly recommended to spend a little time in the Bronx because it’s very real New York, as apposed to Manhattan, which can be touristy. The family then went to a Yankees versus Mets baseball game. It was very fun to see the rivalry between the two New York teams.
