With its fabulous beaches, nightlife and large touristic presence, Mexico was always a bucket list destination for us. By far, it has been the best trip we have been on!

Day 1

We visited Mexico in April of 2019. Once we landed, we headed to our accommodation in Cancun. The drive there carried beautiful landscapes and a rich strip of majestic hotels. By the first hour of the trip, we knew it was going to be epic. We arrived at Senõr Frogs Hostel and Bar, now called Mayan and Monkey Hostel and Bar. The location was very central, the vibe was young and fun, and the views were outstanding!

First thing we wanted to do is the set feet in the Cancun waters. It was as beautiful as expected; however, the current had dragged in awful amounts of seaweed across the whole coastline and beach. Unfortunately, this was a bit disappointing, and the swimming was not very pleasant.

For the rest of the day, we enjoyed the hotel pool and bar, and indulged in ‘my favorite food yet’ the spicy Mexican cuisine.

Day 2

The area we stayed in is known as Cancun Hotel Zone also known as ‘Zona Hotelera’ or ‘Tourist Zone.’ It is where tourists spend most of their time during their Cancun holiday. Few minutes of walking distance from our hotel, and facing the amazing beach strip, we saw numerous attractions, water sports venues, waterfront restaurants, and did lot of shopping!

Day 3

Cancun night life is on another level as well. They take their parties to the street, literally!
We headed to Senõr Frogs bar, and it was crazy fun. Fishbowl drinks, non-stop shots and drinking games. The bar includes a stage and hosts amazing dance and drinking competitions. My friend won a Margarita competition, yay!

Anything you would add or do differently?

  • We would definitely stay more days to experience other areas of Cancun, or maybe visit during low seaweed seasons.
