Highlights
Hiking. It was perfect hiking weather and we did some great hikes, all with amazing views.
Custom hat experience. So fun to pick out and design my own hat. A perfect souvenir for our trip.
Day 1
Travel day and checked into rental property.
Flew directly into Jackson Hole Airport, which made the travel day less hectic.
Rented a house (www.jhrl.com/vacation-rentals/4bd3ba-glory-view-home) and it was a perfect place for a group of 10. Jackson Hole Resort Lodging was a good company to work with and very responsive to the few things that we needed fixed during our stay.
Day 2
Started the morning with bagels and coffee at Pearl Street Bagels in Wilson, and then spent the day exploring the town of Jackson.
Had a great lunch at Jackson Drug (split into a group of two for faster service, but did not need a reservation). Then shopped and shopped some more. A few of us did the custom hat experience at Encounter Hat Co, which was unique and fun.
Went to Roadhouse Pub & Eatery for happy hour and especially enjoyed the Tusk-a-rita.
Finished off the day with dinner at Nora's Fish Creek In back in Wilson.
Day 3
Headed out early to Grand Teton National Park to hike Jenny Lake (recommend going early for a parking spot).
Stopped in Jackson for lunch at Merry Piglets. Had dinner at home (had groceries delivered on Monday morning but also made frequent trips to Hungry Jack's General Store throughout the week).
Day 4
What a busy day!
Started the day in Teton Village and rode the Arial Tram up to Corbet's Cabin for waffles (so tasty) and the view (breathtaking!). (Recommend buying the Sightseeing Ticket ahead of time for access to the tram, unlimited gondola rides and more trails).
Rode the gondola part way up the mountain and did the Wildflower hike to the top (and took the gondola back down).
Happy hour at the Mangy Moose. Dinner at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Night at the Jackson Hole Rodeo (and then back to the Cowboy Bar to close out the evening).
Day 5
The highlights of the day were whitewater and scenic river trips (we split up) on the Snake River.
The whitewater rafters had a fun but wet (and cold) run down the river, while the scenic floaters were dry and saw moose. Both groups really enjoyed day on the river.
Day 6
Headed back to Grand Teton National Park and did the Phelps Lake hike, which was way less crowded and just as beautiful as Jenny Lake. Definitely a highlight of the trip.
Lunched at Snake River Brewing and had dinner at home.
Day 7
Closed out the trip with another shopping day in Jackson and a bar tour, followed by a fabulous dinner at Glorietta Trattoria.
Anything you would add or do differently?
-
While the Jenny Lake hike is so beautiful, it's overly crowded so I would have picked a different, less popular, hike instead.
