Much Fun in Milan

Much Fun in Milan

Map of trip
Posted on March 11, 2024

I studied abroad in Rome and had a two week fall break from my school. I decided to take the train to Milan which was a little over three hours. My friend and I woke up super early and had made an itinerary from Friday morning to Monday afternoon.

Trip Recap

  • Day 1: Metro to Duomo, rooftop drinks, shopping, and delicious meals - perfect Milan day.
  • Day 2:
  • Day 3: Relax, recharge, and shop in Milan's trendy fashion district this morning.
  • Day 4: Relax, indulge, explore, and journey through Italy's beauty, luxury, and culture.

Highlights

  • Rose Icon

The outlet stores were to die for and the art district was calm, unique, and eclectic.

  • Rose Icon

The Armani/Silos were some of the most interesting fashion archives I had visited during my time in Italy. The pieces were preserved incredibly, and for an art and fashion lover like me, it was heaven. There was even a coffee shop inside and the staff were super friendly. The top floor had an interactive display, along with computers filled with decades worth of fashion archives.

Day 1

Hotel Da Vinci checkin 9:30
Take the metro to visit Duomo di Milano
Coffee and cornetto in the city
Window shop/shop at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele
Lunch/drinks at The Dome Milan (rooftop bar with view of the Duomo)
Browse shops in the city center
Dinner Ai Bastioni
Drinks at LibrOsteria (walking distance)
Take the metro back to the hotel

We decided to stay slightly outside of the city, which ended up being a wonderful choice. Our hotel had a metro a 10 ish minute walk away from it that took us anywhere we needed to go and for a very low cost. The metro was well-connected. We saved a lot on cost by choosing to stay outside the city, but the hotel was very high end offering breakfast and a restaurant/bar downstairs. The staff was friendly and everything in the hotel was spotless.

Anything you would add or do differently?

  • I have no complaints at all. I went outside of tourist season, so it was relatively calm and not as crowded. I got to see everything I had planned without feeling like I was on a time constraint.
