Highlights
Our fabulous condo right on the mountain! Shawdowbrook Condos VRBO #2003351
The price...we make our ski trips affordable by skipping the rental car and taking the 25-minute stop-to-stop bus between Snowmass and Aspen in winter!
Day 1
We decided to fly into Aspen on Christmas day from Chicago. We left that evening and flew into the sunset–the most beautiful flight I'd ever been on. The airport was empty, a travlers dream. We checked into our Shadowbrook Condo, VRBO#2003351, conveniently located right on the mountain. Unfortunately, our groceries didn't make it that day as it was Christmas, but we were lucky to have a beautiful dinner next door at the Stonebridge Inn. Great service and celebrity stories from a local Aspen chef! Crazy electronic music and light displays just outside our condo on the mountain-fun!
Day 2
Great first day on the mountain. After exhausting ourselves run after run, the best rewards at Urlhoff Lodge, where you may get lucky enough to have Craig make your bloody mary. This unrenovated lodge has great vibes, and you will love the best mountain tunes as you catch views from the bar through the Grateful Dead flag adorning the window. This is Colorado skiing to me. Made our way to Big Burn after an awesome day. Mom cooked spaghetti dinner and lots of hot- tub time..nice set-up at this condo complex!
Day 3
It was another great morning, with a quick stop at The Crep Shop for coffee and breakfast. We made it all over the mountain and enjoyed what we love about Snowmass–great runs and short lift lines!!! We didn't have dinner reservations and tried our best to get into Il Poglio in Upper Snowmass Village. After several desperate attempts to find dinner, we ended up at The Stew Pot. Our hangry crew loved dinner at this casual family-friendly spot!
Day 4
Finally made our way to our favorite run, Longshot. The 1000 ft hike is worth skiing the longest run in North America! It is very doable with kids who are proficient skiers. This roller coaster ride of a run reminds of Blue Sky in Vail. We earned our lunch at the iconic, rustically elegant Lynn Britt cabin. The one reservation I remembered to make! I hear they just renamed it "The Cabin," a travesty in my opinion! That evening we took the bus to Aspen, as it's a huge savings and it's what many locals do. I was blessed to hold a crying baby as a young father was trying to keep his other two under five happy. It was the highlight of my day! We luckily slid into Campo Di Fiori for a wonderful Italian dinner with Aspen vibes. Don't be like us and forget to make reservations this busy time of year!!
Day 5
We packed up and did a little last minute shopping in Snowmass village. After a walk down to Fuel Cafe for a late breakfast, we said goodbye to beautiful Snowmass! Another great ski trip in the books 🎿

I completely forgot to make dinner reservations. This is a must during any busy time in Aspen/Snowmass!! So many great restaurants–I prefer the dining options in Aspen, but after a long day of skiing in Snowmass, its easy to stay local.
