Days 1 to 2
Krakow (2 nights): We arrived in Krakow, checked in, and went to get dinner in Market Square. The next day, after sleeping in a little bit, we visited Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory (which is a museum now). In the afternoon, we took a food tour of Krakow, which was definitely a highlight! It was great to get some of the histories while we got to taste all kinds of delicious food and drink.
Day 3
Warsaw (1 night): We spent one night in Warsaw. Pro tip: you should spend more time there! Since it took longer to drive there than we anticipated, we explored Castle Square and had pierogis before calling it a night.
Days 4 to 5
Wroclaw (2 nights): After an amazing breakfast in Warsaw (at Bułkę przez Bibułkę), we drove to Wroclaw. It was love at first sight! We walked down to Market Square and got ice cream in a park, looking for gnomes along the way. Wroclaw has little gnome statues hidden all over the city, and it's so much fun! The next day we took a walking tour of Wroclaw, and then some of the group split off for a beer tour of the city.
Days 6 to 7
Krakow (2 nights): The next day, we drove back to Krakow, we loved it so much! We had a sobering day at Auschwitz the following day, which is an easy day trip from Krakow. It's not a fun place but it is important. For our last day in Krakow, we toured the Rynek Underground museum and explored the Wawel Castle. After that, it was time to drive back to Budapest!
Anything you would add or do differently?
-
We would spend longer in Warsaw, rather than just one night, since it was a bit of a trek to get to. We also really liked Warsaw and would have loved to explore more!
