Highlights

The highlights of our trip was walking around the city was so convenient and we had fabulous weather. The food was also a highlight as everywhere we ate was delicious and the service was excellent.

Day 1

Today we slept in then woke up and walked around the lovely Seaport area to get coffee and a pastry at Lakon Paris Patisserie. Then did the Harbor walk along the waterfront at Fan Pier Park. We then took an uber back to Boston Common and walked through the park then down Commonwealth, a beautiful tree lined street with gorgeous houses. We then headed back up Newberry street which was filled with shops and restaurants. We ate outside at a lovely restaurant, Eva 279A Newbury Street. We continued to enjoy the day walking on Newbury street then over to Beacon Hill area and walked up and down Charles Street. Both lovely areas. We ate dinner at 75 Chestnut, which was so charming and delicious.

Day 2

We arrived at our hotel around 12:30. We stayed at the Envoy Hotel in the Seaport area. Great location on the water and view from the rooftop bar. We headed out to Boston Common as our starting point to enjoy walking through the park and catching the start of the Freedom Trail. We walked that on our own rather than taking a tour. We stopped at Union Oyster for a late lunch. We were able to sit at the bar and had beers, oysters, clam chowder, fish and chips and the lobster roll. Fun historical restaurant and really good food. We continued to walk toward Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Stopped for a coffee and pastry at Tatte Bakery, super cute spot and delicious. We went back to our hotel to chill for a bit and have a drink at the rooftop of our hotel. We had a late dinner reservation at Lucca in the North End neighborhood. Such a great Little Italy area filled with restaurants, bakeries and people walking all over. We had dessert at the Modern Bakery. Great day!

Anything you would add or do differently?

  • I would have liked to have visited one of the universities if we had more time. I would add another day if doing it again or leave later on Sunday so we had that full day to explore more.
