It was absolutely a bucket-list item for me to take in the Spanish culture, immerse myself in the spiritual tradition, and enjoy tramping through the beautiful vistas of the Camino de Santiago.

Summer trip to Spain with our 4 teenagers

After a whirlwind year full of planning, bridal showers, bachelor & bachelorette trips, and finally, our wedding day, my husband and I wanted to find the perfect destination to begin our life together as newlyweds. We wanted to travel somewhere beautiful, steeped in history, dotted with beaches, exciting culture, and equal opportunities for relaxation and adventure. The island of Mallorca checked all the boxes. With its stunning natural landscapes, lively cities, and delectable food - Mallorca was home to our dream honeymoon.

After spending a few weeks in Spain, I was ready for the beach. Malaga was a short drive from Sevilla and appealed to my desire for sun, sand and of course more tapas.

I had been traveling solo in Spain for a month and my girlfriend was coming to visit. Barcelona sounded like the ideal destination to go with a significant other. It had beautiful art, rich food, an exciting night life, and the beach. There are enough pop songs about it that I had to visit it myself.

Ever since studying Spanish in high school, Spain has been on my list. Madrid seemed like the logical place to start. I knew little about it before arriving other than pork was a big deal and their soccer team Real Madrid was one of the best in the world.

We traveled here on a two week trip to Spain for our honeymoon. This was of the top places we wanted to visit because of its historical significance and proximity to nature.

I originally studied abroad in the Basque Country and spent 5 months in San Sebastian and traveling all over Spain. I've been back to the Basque Country 3 times since then for varying amounts of time.

I am studying abroad for the semester in San Sebastián, Spain! There is a group of Santa Clara kids that came with me and we decided we needed a weekend getaway with some sun after a rainy week in San Seb.

I chose a weekend getaway in these three locations because Portugal is in close proximity to Spain, and my best friend and I wanted to do a little trip together. We chose to see Lisbon as it is a city destination where we know a few other students studying abroad, and I recommended Sintra as I went there a few years back and absolutely adored it. Nazaré is a bucket list place that I've always wanted to visit to see the world-famous surfing waves and picturesque cliffs. Portugal isn't too big so we could hop around from place to place.

I travelled with some friends that i was studying abroad with for a trip to Morocco! We went on an organized trip, as at the time, that was a safer option and fairly cheap to do from Spain!

Golf trip with a friend who is from Ireland. Golfed with people he grew up with. Finished the trip with a week in Spain enjoying Mediterranean beaches and Spanish food.

After living in a city abroad, I felt like I needed a dose of mountain. My friend from my summer job in Colorado was visiting me in Spain and going to Italy after, so we decided to hop over to France in between to do what we love to do best together-- hiking.
