Relaxing girls trip to Austin, Texas

Trip Recap

  • Day 1: Text Paperboy for waitlist, shop at the Domain, eat BBQ at Terry Black's.
  • Day 2: Explore Austin's wellness scene, then enjoy a picnic at Zilker Park. Dinner afterwards.
  • Day 3: Sipping coffee with music, soaking up the sun, and watching boats glide by.

Day 1

Day 1: Friday

Grab brunch at Paperboy - text the phone number listed on their website to get an idea of what the waitlist looks like! You need to put your name down in person. Order the texas hash and get at least one cheddar hash to share for the table.

Go shopping at the Domain - a shopping center north of the city with restaurants and stores like Mejuri, Skims, Nordstrom, David Yurman, Aritzia, Zara and Madewell. If you want to stay local, try South Congress or the boutiques on 2nd Street.

Have some BBQ - Terry Black's is a must try for your first time in Austin. You can pick it up to eat at your AirBnb or hotel, or you can grill with friends.

Go out for a drink - check out the bars that tourists don't know about, like La Holly, Trona, In Plain Sight, Red Headed Stepchild, Nickel City, or Sahara Lounge

Start your day with a workout - Black Swan Yoga offers donation-based drop in classes for $10 or you can go for a walk or run on the Lady Bird Lake trail.

Have a picnic - Zilker Park is always buzzing with dogs, frisbee games, volleyball and locals. Bring cards, water, snacks and a picnic blanket.

Go out to dinner - check out Austin's vibrant food scene. Some newer favorite restaurants include Nido, Mexta, Uchiba, Poeta and Ember Kitchen.

Day 3

Day 3: Sunday

Get coffee and pastries at Mozart's Coffee Roasters - you'll likely have live music, sunshine and boat watching as you sip your coffee overlooking the water.

Walk the neighborhood - Tarrytown is home to some of Austin's prime real estate. You can see all of the houses by going to Mount Bonnell. Finish the day at Flo's Wine Bar and treat yourself to Allday Pizza before heading to the airport.
