Day 1

We arrived in NYC mid-morning. Our room wasn't ready, so we left our bags and went to explore! I was especially excited to visit the famed "ABC Home" store. We had a great dinner at Lillie's Victorian before seeing "Wicked." Lillie's was a feast for the eyes, and Wicked on Broadway is an absolute must!! Enjoyed our tuk-tuk taxi through Times Square jammin' the Bee Gees. They are expensive–set your deal before getting on! Great way to end our night.

Day 2

We walked miles, shopping in mid-town all the way to Little Italy and down to Chelsea! Hit a favorite boutique, No. 6. Best shopping I've ever experienced! Visited the unbelievable 911 Museum and memorial. We had to gather ourselves after this solemn, somber experience. Later, we had a wondeful Italian pasta and pizza at the famous Lil Frankie's. Popped in to the Empire State Building just before it closed. The experince is gorgeous, from the interactive exhibit and elevator movie to the view up top–you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Day 3

We walked to Central Park in the morning and had breakfast at Tavern on the Green on our last day. On the way back to our hotel, we had to stop at Barney's, so I could show the girls what shopping for real designer clothes looked like. For fun, we tried on a thing or two from Gucci. The ride to the airport luckily wasn't congested, as we didn't leave ourselves enough time!

Anything you would add or do differently?

  • I would have spent less time researching restaurants–there are so many good ones.

  • We found ourselves on the outskirts of town late at night. Stay where it's busy, it was tough to find a taxi.

  • Three days was great, but a 4th, or even another half a day would have been great.

  • Next time we'd love to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
