We had been to Exuma before for a shorter 4 night trip, and we knew we HAD to get back and stay longer. We love to visit Exuma for the beautiful blue waters and all the interactions with the wildlife, including sharks, iguanas, pigs, cats, stingrays and more!

  • Days 2 to 3: Relaxing at Sandals Emerald Bay with cocktails, beach fun, and live music!
  • Day 4: Must visit Chat N' Chill for cocktails and friendly stingrays!
  • Day 5: Exuma's Full Day Boat Trip is an unforgettable adventure filled with wildlife!
  • Day 6: Excited to tee off at the stunning Greg Norman Design Golf Course today!

The COLORS! The colors of Exuma- there's NO PLACE on Earth like it!

Day 1

Day 1- A beautiful 40-minute flight from Miami International Airport brings you to Georgetown, Great Exuma, Bahamas! We stayed at Sandals Emerald Bay. They had service/pick up directly from the airport to the resort. They are always fast, friendly and efficient!

Days 2 to 3

Days 2-3- LAZY BEACH DAYS! Our days were spent exploring the Sandals Emerald Bay Resort grounds. Trying fruity cocktails at the pool bar, ordering drinks from the waiters ON the beach, Paddleboarding, visiting with the resident kitties, trying out some of the WONDERFUL restaurants, lounging in hammocks, playing pool at the Drunken Duck Pub in the evenings, and listening to live music at night at the pool by the firepit!

Day 4

Day 4- No trip to Exuma is complete without a boat ride over to Stocking Island to Chat N' Chill. This is the quintessential island beach bar - wooden swings, fruity island cocktails, fresh conch made fresh in-front of you, and THE BEST part- the local stingrays who love to swim around your feet!

Day 5

Day 5 - The MAIN reason we visit Exuma is for the Full Day Boat Trip with the Sugar Adventure Company! HIGHLY recommend. We've booked w/ them twice and each adventure has been spectacular! They take you "Island Hopping" all around the Exumas Cays. Compass Cay is my favorite stop- swimming with the wild nurse sharks! Its exhilirating! Visiting the pigs and the iguanas on their respective islands (Big Major Cay and Allan's Cay Island) is fantastic as well. As an animal lover, NOTHING beats this day! If you like a little more adventure the boat stops at Thunderball Grotto for a swim inside the cave! (Side note: a James Bond Thunderball scene was filmed there). Sand bars, celebrity homes, sea turtles, and more... you see it ALL on this adventure!

Day 6

Day 6 - A day on the golf course! Sandals Emerald Bay is home to the award-winning Greg Norman Design Golf Course! It's recognized as one of the most scenic ocean-side golf courses in the Caribbean... and let me tell you, it does NOT disappoint. Photos never do this place justice!

Anything you would add or do differently?

  • Wish we had used the pools. We sat by the pools and ordered drinks, listened to music, etc but never actually swam.

  • We should have tried more of the restaurants! We stuck to the ones we loved.
